Bloggin’ bcsBALL

9-20-21 — I’ve never been much of a blogger but here goes…. I owe a big debt to my sponsors and listeners for the success of bcsBALL.com. It’s closing in on 50,000 views since we launched on February 15, 2019. We would have certainly been well beyond that if not for COVID cancelling most all of the 2020 baseball and softball seasons.

9-21-21 — How about the Bryan Vikings Volleyball team. Won 5 straight and are tied for the district lead at 4-0. Beat Killeen tonight in straight sets. Also wins for A&M Consolidated over Paetow and Rudder over Waller tonight. College Station was off and went bowling!! They really did…. Looking forward to broadcasting Rudder hosting Huntsville JV Football Thursday at Rudder field. We need rain but please not between 5-7 Thursday, OK….. No Press Box ya know. BTW, I invite your comments on my twitter page (@bcs_ball) of our Facebook Page bcsball.

9-25-21 — Great road 5-set win for Rudder Volleyball last night ar A&M Consolidated. And it was a big Rudder night as the Ranger Football team stayed undefeated with a 31-28 OT win over 8th ranked Huntsville. Congrats RUDDER for a big Friday Night.

9-29-21 — The Rudder Ranger volleyball team is in 5th place in district right now with a big game Friday night at home with league leading College Station. Rudder is playing very well and I still think they have a good shot at making the playoffs. If they do, it’s looking like we could have all four local teams in the Playoffs. Bryan is still undefeated in district play and leads the standings. It was a big road win last night over 2nd place Copperas Cove. A&M Consolidated got a big win over Brenham to stay in second place.

9-29-21 — I hope some of you have been able to listen to Texas Links On The Air, which we record and re-play each Saturday. It’s a live show hosted by Pat Wheeler, an old friend that I worked with back in 1974 at the Irving Daily News. Pat talks Texas golf and since I’m from Texas and love golf, I decided to add the program to my website. What you are getting is not only what’s on the air, but their off-the-air chit-chat during commercial breaks. Give it a listen — here’s a quick link to the page: https://bcsball.com/tloa/

10-8-21 — It’s a big weekend in BCS! Alabama comes to town tomorrow and are a 17-point favorite. I’m picking the Ags to cover that. High school football started early this week. Congrats to A&M Consolidated. Lost their staring QB but still came back to beat Lake Creek on the road 36-22. Tonight, 2nd ranked College Station is at Lufkin, Rudder goes for a 6-0 record at Montgomery and Bryan hosts Shoemaker. BCSBALL will air two volleyball matches tonight with Bryan hosting Shoemaker and College Station at Magnolia.

10-9-21 — What a Day of Football! OU beat Texas and Ole Miss beats Arkansas and best of all, Ags beat #1 Bama and all 3 on final play. Great games…

10-13-21 — Congrats to Bryan and College Station volleyball with wins last night. Bryan clinched a playoff spot with a 5-set win over Ellison and Bryan clinched at least a co-championship in district with a sweep of Waller. This Friday night starting at 5, College Station hosts A&M Consolidated. It’ll ofcourse be broadcast on bcsball.com.

10-13-21 — Last Saturday, the Aggie win over Alabama was previewed with the WTAW FanZone Show. I’m privileged to join Scott Clendenen to host this show live from the FanZone north of Kyle Field. Every home game, starting 3 hours before kickoff, we start the show with AD Ross Bjork. Last Saturday we were joined by former head coach Jackie Sherrill. Thanks coach. See ya’ll on Oct 23 at 3:30 pm, 3 hours before kickoff with South Carolia.
